25 May Men’s Salon Opening in Germantown
by Amos Maki
Germantown is getting an upscale styling salon and grooming service made just for men.
Owners Dara Vongphrachanh and Donald R. Johnson II are opening Baron’s Man Cave in 2,250 square feet in suite 102 at the Poplar Collection, located at 9289 Poplar Ave. in Germantown. The idea is to give men a place where they can get pampered and still feel masculine.
“You’ll be around other men who want to look good so there’s nothing emasculating about it,” Vongphrachanh said with a laugh.
“I think there’s a big void for men when it comes to this,” Vongphrachanh said. “When you look at it right now there is Sport Clips or the traditional barber shop and the next step is a salon, which are usually dominated by women, which can be uncomfortable for men. We’re going for that middle area.”
Baron’s Man Cave will offer hair styling and grooming services like haircuts, shaves, manicures and pedicures in a decidedly male environment. For instance, the manicure bar is being designed to look like a bar you would normally find at a pub or restaurant and the salon will include plenty of large, flat-screen televisions.
Baron’s Man Cave is expected to open Summer 2015. You can follow Baron’s Man Cave on Twitter and Facebook at @BaronsMan-
Cave and www.facebook.com/baronsmancave. Wilson McCloy of Crye-Leike Commercial represented Baron’s Man Cave and the
landlord, LTV Investments LLC, in the transaction.
